Works well on medium and high carbon steels, alloy steels, tool steels, and stainless steel. Not recommended on materials above 35 Rc.
FEATURES:
- Special relief design allows tap to cut more freely while generating less heat.
- Surface treatment helps keep cutting fluid on the surface of the tap to eliminate galling and surface welding chips.
- Coated with a blue diamond surface treatment which will result in longer tool life and better quality threads.
Penta Blue – Will provide longer life and better thread finish versus standard taps in material such as medium and high carbon steel (1030 – 1045 – 1060), low and medium carbon alloy steels (4320 – 6620 – 8625 – 4130 – 4150 – 4340) and annealed condition steels (300 and 400 series). When using materials above 30 Rc, we recommend using the straight flute tap with a blue diamond treatment.
